Angelo Salamanca - Director 

Angelo graduated with distinction from the Victorian College of the Arts Film and TV School, in 1991 where his graduate film, “Urban Myth”, was picked up for distribution by the AFI and received a Certificate of Merit from the Nimes Film Festival, France.

Angelo has been professionally active in film and video production for over 16 years with experience in many disciplines including directing, screenwriting, casting and production assisting.

His first efforts at screenwriting included co-writing “Hungry Heart” (Edinburgh Film Festival; Montreal Film Festival; GTV 9) directed by Luigi Acquisto and writing “Closer and Closer Apart” (screened on GTV 9; FOXTEL) described by David Stratton in Variety as “well-written script”.

He has been a member of Melbourne Film Festival features and documentary pre-selection panel for 11 years and has served twice on the Australian Film Institute Awards panel for shorts and animation. Angelo has judged screenplays for feature films and television drama for competitions conducted by The Austalian Writers Guild and Fellowship of Australian Writers.

Keiran King - Producer

Keiran King is the founder of production company Wee Arthur Films. Hailing from New Zealand, Keiran has produced many stage and theatre productions between Christchurch and Melbourne. With his acting career currently being more focused on screen productions, so too did his focus on producing for the medium. As an experienced filmmaker both behind and in front of the camera, Keiran took on the roles of scriptwriter, story creator and his debut film producer role in Life On Earth: Severance along side fellow content creator, producer and actress, Emma Burnside. With content ideas springing up left right and centre, Keiran will continue producing, writing and creating stories for the upcoming feature films, web series and documentaries within Wee Arthur Films.. 

Emma Burnside - Producer

Emma Burnside is making her debut as a producer on Life On Earth: Severance, a project she will also be making her debut as a story creator. Always one to enjoy throwing herself in the deep end,  Emma has chosen to continue producing and creating content within Wee Arthur Films on multiple upcoming films and web series.


Kate Whitbread - Executive Producer

Kate Whitbread is a producer of feature films, television series, television commercials, live theatre and events. Her company KWFilms develops and produces content with a focus on female audiences worldwide.

Some of Kate’s feature film credits include THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME, distributed by Samuel Goldwyn, AFI and IF award winning feature film THE CATERPILLAR WISH for Palace films. SURVIVING GEORGIA producer/director with Shane Jacobson and Pia Miranda,and DEEPER THAN BLUE with Colin Friels. Kate has also produced a number of short films including OUT OF ORDER that she also directed.

For the stage Kate produced 8 THE PLAY at her Majesties theatre in support of marriage equality and also all women cast for 12 ANGRY MEN at the Alex Theatre in St Kilda raising awareness for white ribbon.

Kate is currently producing the feature film THE CARER by Alan Hopgood that she will also direct. A psychological drama THE UNLIT by Darren Markey, WOLF OF ROSTOV by George Viscas and MAXWELL by Sandra Sciberras. She is also developing for television BEFORE SUMMER an 8 part contempary thriller set on the morning peninsula, GIRLS IN THE STREET the moving 2 part story of the Australian artist Joy Hester and is currently Executive Producer on the Indie thriller LIFE ON EARTH, Kieran King and Emma Burnside’s debut feature film.

Kate is a member of Women in Film and TV Victoria and an advocate for White Ribbon Australia. Kate is also Industry Liason and initiated the Screenwriters competition for the Lorne Film festival to encourage new writers

Simon Green - Cinematographer

Simon Green Director of Photography “I am passionate about cinematography, both its technical and aesthetic demands. I believe cinematography must be integral to the story and work to facilitate the director’s vision. It must at once attract but not distract, support not distort. I’m not locked into one particular style. Rather each piece of work should be informed by a combination of concept, script and desired outcome.” Simon has worked extensively in the professional film arena as a DOP for more than 10 years. With his wealth of knowledge behind the camera, he is able to create images that highlight the true essence of the stories he is responsible for capturing.

Hayley Miro Browne - Editor

Hayley Miro Browne is a film editor and member of ASE (Australian Screen Editors) and has worked on numerous features, beginning her career at 20 as Jill Bilcock’s first assistant editor before becoming an editor herself. Hayley trained under Jill Bilcock for eight years. Early features as assistant editor include Ana Kokkinos’ BLESSED, Guillermo Del Toro’s DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, Kriv Stenders’ RED DOG, Robert Connolly’s PAPER PLANES before editor debut in 2014 on Clara Law’s SHANGHAI NOIR (BAO SOU SHEN TAN). More recently Hayley has worked with Amiel Courtin-Wilson on his latest EMPYREAN, Keiran King, Emma Burnside & Angelo Salamanca’s indie thriller LIFE ON EARTH and the end of 2017/2018 in the USA on a feature project yet to be announced. Along with cutting features, Hayley has also contributed to television, short films and video clips such as Viva Bianca & Kyra Cox’s I WANT YOU (St Kilda Film Festival 2014), Troy Galvin’s AN OPEN LETTER TO UNCLE EDGAR (Cannes short film corner 2016), Adam Zwar’s AGONY: 2015, PVT’s  MORNING MIST ROCK ISLAND BEND, City Calm Down’s BLOOD and Angelo Salamanca’s THE LAST BABUSHKA DOLL.


James Orr - Composer

James Orr is a film composer and sound designer based out of Melbourne, Australia. Cultivating an interest in music from an early age via drums and percussion, he then went on to explore a range of styles of music, with a keen interest in electronic music production, engineering and synthesis. This led to the subsequent collaboration with a range of artists and bands as both a drummer and producer. In 2007, Orr began working with Dead Can Dance and Golden Globe winning musician and composer, Lisa Gerrard. Since then he has contributed music to a range of award-winning film scores including the ABC documentary SOLO, BALIBO (2009 APRA Music Award, ARIA Music Award, AFI Awards Nomination), BURNING MAN (FCCA Award Winner, Screen Music Award Winner) & JANE GOT A GUN. Orr has also engineered on film scores for ORANGES & SUNSHINE, PRIEST, SAMSARA, THE TRAIL OF GENGHIS KHAN, I,FRANKENSTEIN, 2:22 & WEST OF SUNSHINE.
